I'm pleased to see that the Paul Robeson Fund for Independent Media requires that there be an organizing component to the projects they fund. Too much great content is developed that accomplished little because it was designed with the content itself, rather than the users in mind.

| The Ecology of Freedom |

In my talks, I often refer to the "ecology" of nonprofit organizations. This reflects my belief that it is extremely practical and powerful to regard organizations as living systems. It also reflects my value system. Many of these ideas are well captured in the book The Ecology of Freedom, by Murray Bookchin , which touches on issues of justice, technology, and the organic nature of social organizations.
